     Today, we started by brainstorming the incidents that had happened in America from the 1990s to the 2000s. I was born in the US in 2005  so it was really interesting to learn about what kind of news was there at that time. I discussed with my team members and we came up with two points which are terrorism and the pandemic of SARS.

     Firstly, we focused on the Axis of Evil-Bush. The axle is used to connect things and in this case, it makes a connection between 3 countries which is Iran, Former Ba'athist Iraq, and North Korea. During WWII, this word was used to connect Japan, Italy, and Germany and put a negative image to it as well. On the other hand, the US and other countries from Europe were expressed as Allies with a positive meaning. I was shocked by how the media was manipulating the public general's image by naturally using these two words.

     Secondly, we learned about NPT, Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons. 95% of the countries signed this treaty of not making any nuclear weapons.  UK, US, Russia, France, and China also signed to not make any nuclear weapons but they are able to keep and make it even more powerful. I couldn't find much information in Japanese media about why they can still possess nuclear weapons and what is written in part 2 of the NPT so this class helped me so much. I would like to learn more about Nuclear deterrence theory too.

     To conclude, it was shocking to know how political everything in America had become. I would try to do a  little research on that media before getting any information.
