2022.2.2

Today, the class did an exercise introduced by Mr.Paterson called the "Marshmallow Challenge". Marshmallow Challenge is a simple design exercise to construct a tower as high as possible using only spaghetti, masking tape, and string and the marshmallow must be placed on the top of the tower, in small groups.
Although I knew about this famous challenge, it was my first time to actually give it a try. As soon as the 15 minutes started, we started to make a base with triangles as it is one of the strongest structures. However, the triangle took some time to make. Moreover, I tried to utilize the materials but there were remains of spaghetti, tape, and string. Therefore, we ended up making a stable but small structure that is around 20 cm which is smaller than half of the average. It was an interesting experience to discuss different perspectives with the team members and make the building as high as possible. I could remember the significance of creativity and innovation, essential skills kindergarten students naturally have, but business school students have forgotten. It teaches valuable lessons on always seeking new possibilities, such as asking the teacher for more materials.
