Today, we learned what is going on in Israel and Palestine as well as how media is hugely biased. Connected with the last class, we shared our paragraphs on BFM. The positive and negative bias that Mr.Paterson gave us made huge difference between how we evaluate the product and choose the word. Moreover, we watched videos and pictures that is showing unbelievable situation that Palestine face.

I was really shocked by today’s class. Many people are starting to spread informations on their social media and informing others about the current situation in Palestine. However, there were videos and pictures that I never saw and they really broke my heart. Especially, the video of children educated by adults and saying horrible things such as “I want to kill the Arabic kids” joyfully. How adults concluded the observation by saying that “children are educated all the needed things” was devastating too.

I hardly understand the position of US supporting Israel. UN’s security council was discussing to give Israel warning about their ethnicity cleansing. However, one of the permanent member, US had used the veto and UN ended up not being able to make almost any action at all. Also the NewYork Times’s report was written in passive when Palestinians got killed while it was written active when Islamic people got killed. Bias is everywhere, even in Mr. Paterson’s class. I felt how finding reliable information is difficult and most Japanese people are ignorant of the current situation.
