The Kite Runner Chapter 22

     Amir and Farid arrived at a big house in Wazir Akbar Khan where John Lennon, the Talib with sunglasses live. They were both nervous and felt like the whole thing was insanity. Farid decided to wait in the car because he had children and his wife. Amir was on his own.

     The meeting with John Lennon finally begun. He hasn't changed clothes after the murder which implies how people's lives are light for him. Moreover, the Talib described the execution as a drama or suspense and even asked Amir for impression.

     Taliban was desperately insane and called ''killing'' as ''liberating'' or ''god's work''. Giving an impassioned speech about how murder is wonderful and breathtaking. Also confessing how the past influenced him and resulted in racial thinking.

     Suddenly, John Lennon started talking about impressive events in 1998. Asked why Amir was living in the U.S instead of saving Afghanistan with his Muslim brothers and why he came back. In fact, John Lennon was Assef, the antagonist and bully in the novel.

     When Amir showed Assef the Polaroid of Sohrab to ask whether he had seen before, he brought Sohrab and showed off to Amir. Sohrab was wearing a traditional dress, wearing makeup, and carrying a stereo on his shoulder. He was forced to dance in a feminine way along with the music or touched in a disgusting way by adults. Of course, the boy looked really embarrassed by Assef's leer. Still, Sohrab's resemblance to Hassan was surprising.

      Amir couldn't bear to hear Assef's stories anymore and criticized Assef for his ethnic cleansing. They were both surprised because Amir never resisted to bullies in childhood.

     At last, Amir and Assef decided to scramble Sohrab. The started fight was unfinished business from more than twenty-six years ago. Amir gave Talib a good fight surprisingly and it continued for hours and hours. They were both and bloody with unbearable pain. However, at some moments, Amir started to laugh so hard. It was funny because his heart's wound finally healed by the fight, not hurting Hassan by throwing pomegranates. Dejavu happened. Sohrab who was crying the whole time stood between Amir and Assef. Crushing Assef's left eye by slingshot. That became the end of the harsh fight.

     Farid was shocked by the bloody appearance of Amir and called for the hospital in a moment. Meanwhile, Amir passed out.
