The Overall Reflection in Making Website
Mr. Paterson provided many opportunities to make websites during a class time especially from the 15th of June. Students can arrange their schedules by themselves. Therefore, instead of reflecting on each class, I thought that it would be better to summarize what we considered, designed, and shared at once in this final blog.
Firstly, let me introduce the concept and theme of our website. The name is "Truth Undercover" which got inspiration from a Disney drama that I used to watch called "KC Undercover". "Undercover the truth of Japanese social issues" is our concept and we are targeting children for our main audience. We considered that the knowledge gained in childhood would influence the thoughts that people would be going to have in the future. SANY, our team wanted children to have the correct knowledge of reality without manipulated by the media. I focused on Tokyo 2020 which is becoming an even more controversial topic recently. Sora decided to focus on Radioactive Substances that deeply connect which what we had learned in chemistry class last year. This is often criticized by foreign media especially in Korea. Akie focused on the coronavirus vaccine which is currently spreading in Japan. Yuna couldn't come to school much so I am not really sure about what she had chosen.
Secondly, I am going to explain specifically about my page. The background is white-colored and there is a picture of Tokyo 2020 that makes the title even more readable. The title is "Tokyo 20201" and it emphasized the fact that Tokyo 2020 was canceled. The subtitle used a five-color scheme of the Olympics and they are "Tokyo 2020 and Japanese media (criticize the Japanese unique way of reporting)", "Location+Financials (Asari clam, Kaki clam, and The New National Stadium)", Coronavirus (convey how Uganda athletes got infected as well as considering the bubble method and PCR)", and lastly taking about relationship od Japanese government and "IOC". These topics included facts that I never used to know before researching and making websites. I put reference in the report so it was interesting to learn that there is no need of them.
Lastly, I played a huge role in the design aspect. I designed the template for member's bio. I made it colorful to catch children's attention, and us members also tried to express ourselves using colors used and short introductory sentences. I really liked Sora's idea of putting button below the bio so that readers can easily skip to indivisual's page.
Conclusively, I am really glad that I could make website that has highest quality than ever. Thank you Mr. Paterson for providing nice opportunity.
