Today, Mr. Paterson taught us websites that make our book review even better. Students from last year, including me, knew Lextutor and Analyze My Writing but using Paper Rater became a new experience for me.

Firstly, Lextutor would judge the ratio of K1 Words, K2 Words, AWL Words, and Off-list Words. K1 Words are 1000 main vocabularies people use in writing and the rate in my book review was 71.55%. K2 Words are 1000 - 2000th popular words and I got 4.92%. AWL stands for Academic List Words and 5% is what Mr.Paterson expects. However, the result was 4.92% which means I need 0.08% more to meet Mr. Paterson's expectation. Maybe, I can increase it by cutting Off-List Words (18.61%) as much as possible.

Secondly, Analyze My Writing has numerous essences to judge our book review. We mainly focused on Readability. Mr. Paterson expected more than 10 for the average grade and mine was 14.08. This number is really high than what I imagined.

Lastly, Paper Rate can give a predictable grade for writing. There are elements like spelling, grammar, word choice, style, vocabulary words, and grade. Websites could spell check the slides too and have many features that no other websites have. Mine grade was 84B and I would try to make it A until submission deadline.

To conclude, I was able to see the level of my book review. There are other websites Mr. Paterson introduced like Purdue that prepare videos and writings that teach us techniques. However, I focused on the main three in this blog. Till the next class, I want to improve it even more through considering Comments and Feedback from teammates.
