We are going to focus on the brochure for the next classes. Write and plan in google doc and copy-paste to canva is the best. We mainly learned about the typical structure of the essay.
For an introduction, team members are going to write it together. We need a hook to attract the reader. In many presentations, we tend to ask a question to get the audience's attention. However, Mr.Paterson said that asking the question is the worst thing to do in formal or academic writing. It became a new learning for me. For the thesis sentence, we need to summarize what problems we are going to figure out. Our team focused on classrooms and outdoors. We just simply wrote that but I think that is enough.
For the body section, each member is going to write one section. The order is the same as the presentation. Medusa, the mouth explains about the problems first. I and Tsubura go next and explain the solution to that. And lastly, Arisa persuades and grab people's heart. Each member writes three paragraphs and we need topic sentence for each. My topic is windows, whiteboards, and chairs. By making topics and points clear in the very first part, the essay will be easier to understand for readers.
For the conclusion, we decided to do paraphrase repeat and summarize each members' thinking. We need to choose the most powerful and important part to make the conclusion something that can persuade people. We need to repeat our claim again to put an image to the audience. When I write the conclusion, I often write about our future at last. However, it may be inappropriate for formal academic writing like this, I want to ask teachers or classmates in the next class.
I believe today's learning will make our brochure way better. Thank you for reading!
